In Loving Memory of Rosco

A High‑Jumping, Wood‑Chewing, Almost‑Too‑Mischievous Pup for His Own Good

Ten years ago, in Muskegon, a joyful, spring‑loaded dog named Rosco bounded into Al’s life after being adopted from a friend. From the moment his paws hit the yard, Rosco made it clear he wasn’t just a pet — he was a force of nature.

Athletic to his core, Rosco could leap four feet or more without hesitation, often bouncing around the yard like happiness itself had grown legs. Being outside was his favorite place to be, patrolling the property with purpose and enthusiasm.

Rosco had a few… hobbies. While some dogs fetch sticks, Rosco preferred to remove entire limbs from trees and chew them into confetti. And in true Rosco fashion, his creativity didn’t stop there. He once tore the license plate off Al’s truck — not out of malice, but with the confidence of a dog whose unofficial middle name might as well have been “Mischief.”

He had his own voice, too — literally. Rosco talked back to Al with a personality big enough to fill the whole yard, never shy about sharing his opinions or making sure he got the last word.

Through every jump, every chewed branch, every sassy conversation, Rosco brought laughter, energy, and a decade of unforgettable companionship. He was joyful, athletic, stubborn, hilarious, and deeply loved.

Run free, Rosco. May the yard be endless, the trees sturdy, and the jumps higher than ever.
