Morty “Mortykins”
Beloved bunny and cherished companion of Allegan.
Morty, affectionately known as Mortykins, hopped peacefully over the rainbow on April 12, 2026, at ten wonderful years old. Adopted from the Chow Hound Humane Society, she quickly became the heart of her home — a cuddly, happy, and deeply loving soul who made every day brighter.
She delighted in life’s simple joys: wicker balls, honey cluster treats, animal crackers, and endless head pets. Her favorite place to sleep was right on her dad’s pillows, nestled in the middle of the bed where she felt safest and most loved. She enjoyed car rides too, at least until the day her carrier flipped during a sudden stop — a moment the family remembers with a mix of laughter and sympathy.
Morty loved watching TV with her family, especially NCIS with Mom and Scotties Garage with Dad. She adored everyone she met — people and animals alike — and during the long days of the COVID shutdown, she even took up the mischievous habit of chewing cords just to make sure she had everyone’s attention.
She taught her family to be patient, to be happy, and to be appreciative of the small, sweet moments that make a life meaningful. Her gentle nature, her warmth, and her quiet humor will forever be part of the home she helped shape.
Her family shares this final message with their beloved girl: “We love you and we will always cherish and think about you. We are sorry that life is so short. We wish we had you from infancy.”
Morty leaves behind a family who will forever feel her absence — and forever be grateful for the love she gave so freely.
