IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maggie
Quail
February 13, 2026
Oh, dear friends and fellow furry companions, gather around as we wag our tails in honor of the marvelous Maggie Quail, who has crossed the Rainbow Bridge on February 13, 2026. She was a spirited soul, about fourteen in human years, who brought boundless joy and delightful mischief to every corner of our lives.
Maggie came into her forever home when she was around a year old, having been adopted from the kind old man next door. He had originally gotten her as a gift for his granddaughter, and she was named Magpie by his son Lester due to her beautiful black and white coat. Wonderfully crafty, Maggie often visited my yard, galloping over to play with my two dogs, Puff, a wise senior Aussie mix, and Tucker, a charming black-headed tri Corgi who became her immediate friend.
Ah, the moments we all shared! Maggie was never just a visitor; she adored spending time with us! Especially after she joined our household officially, having transitioned from being tied outside to snuggling inside among fluffy toys. Imagine her big eyes glimmering with excitement as she “piled up” her toys on a cozy dog bed, settling in with the attitude of a queen who had finally taken her rightful throne.
Tucker, my beloved Corgi, may have thought of her as a playful little sister, but their bond grew particularly close after Puff went to the big dog park in the sky. They would scamper around, playing fetch with tennis balls; God forbid if the wrong ball was thrown! Maggie had a keen sense and an excellent memory for her favorites—if the right one was stuck, she would stare you down until it was retrieved, waiting patiently for just the right moment to chase.
She was no ordinary pooch; Maggie’s instincts shone brightest when it came to the chickens! Not trained as a herding dog, she nonetheless wrangled them like a pro, showing her remarkable skills with Tucker as they guided the birds to their cozy abode. You could always find her conducting “safety checks” at the chicken coop, ensuring everything was perfect!
After Tucker left us, Maggie had a brief year as the lone pup in the house, with only a few feline friends for company. But I couldn’t let her stay alone! And so we ventured forth together to find her a new partner. As fate would have it, Maggie led me right to a crate containing Bailey, a sweet little beagle. It wasn’t exactly the plan I had, but Maggie’s choice was perfect, and even amidst the rescue lady’s warnings about Bailey’s loud barks and shedding, I remarked, “You see, I brought a Corgi!” Maggie was always the wild spirit, full of energy, especially when it came to shedding—like how I jested about spinning her fluffy coat into a beautiful sweater.
As her mobility began to decline, we found new ways for Maggie to enjoy the sun. A delightful wagon became her royal carriage, and she would sit proudly while Bailey trotted alongside, soaking in the sights and sounds of our neighborhood.
Maggie was more than just a companion; she was a gentle, feisty soul who touched the hearts of everyone around her. With her boundless energy and endless love, she filled our days with laughter and warmth. Now, as she prances across the golden fields in doggy heaven, I can just see her, chasing after her beloved tennis balls, wearing a crown made of the softest fluff.
Forever in our hearts, Maggie Quail will always be remembered for the joy she brought into our lives. Until we meet again, sweet girl—run free and bark loudly!
